Hannah is an English composer and Producer from North Norfolk. Music has been a key part of Hannah’s life from the early age of four when she started playing the Drums and Piano. From that point there was no looking back. She attended Gresham’s school in Holt, Norfolk (where the hugely talented English composer Benjamin Britten had also attended) and was Classically trained up until the age of 19. Hannah decided to broaden her musical knowledge and studied Popular Music and Recording at the University of Salford. She specialised in Performance and Composition where She received a 1st for her final composition portfolio. She has since played in a number of ensembles encompassing Funk, Soul, Rock, Indie, Pop, and Jazz, and has played in several national orchestras.
Hannah has always had a huge passion for composition, writing her first song at the age of 10, which she recalls as a very 90’s sounding dance track. As a result of her eclectic musical education and exposure, she has many different influences. these include a love of 80’s music, (especially the New Wave scene and electronic musicians such as Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode, Jean Michel Jarre, and New Order / Joy Division), Dance, House and electronic music and also a love of 8 bit music (or Chip-tunes). She is also influenced by classical chord progressions, and has a particular love of the works of J.S Bach.
Hannah has had positive results with her recent composition work, having her first track as an independent artist being picked up by an independent label, and subsequently published at the end of 2013. The release included a remix of the track as a ‘B’ side by Lee Wraith and Ben Harding. Recently Hannah worked on a collaboration with Michael B, an Italian producer and DJ, and has also had this track co-published. Recently She wrote a retro feel dance track, (‘8 Bit Kicks’) Which was picked up by an Independent Italian record label, Double Inc Records and was also published. Shortly after this time, Hannah worked with Michael B following the success of ‘Neon Dreams’ and a Remix of 8 bit kicks has also been released under Flybeat Dance Records. Other music includes showreels and short time-lapse films as well as atmospheric scene setting pieces. It has been a roller-coaster adventure but the future is looking very bright for Hannah Jones Music.
